Investing in the Schoodic Community Made with Xara Qualifying to Receive SCF Funds Schoodic Peninsula non-profits, schools, and municipalities may apply. SCF grants may be made, for example, to improve the physical structures of local meeting places, assist arts organizations, beautify our villages and towns, retrofit public buildings to make them environmentally friendly, support libraries and health clinics, strengthen local education through support for specific projects. Although the Advisory Committee does not set a limit on the size of grant requests, over the past 12 years grants funded from SCF funds have averaged $2000 per recipient, ranging from $250 to $8000. Grants cannot be made to individuals or religious organizations. SCF Advisors, representing villages and towns, review the applications. Deadline for submission is June 1st of each year. Awards are made in September. You will be asked to give a short summary of your project, expected outcomes, budget, time line, etc.  If you would like to discuss your ideas for a submission contact Roger Bowen at rwbowen5@aol.com or 207 963 4156.
