Investing in the Schoodic Community Made with Xara SCF Bylaws Schoodic Community Fund Bylaws Approved June 10, 2020 Purpose To benefit all the villages, towns and residents of the Schoodic Peninsula, especially education, culture, environment, the well being of all residents, and the economic vitality of the Peninsula Responsibilities of Committee Members 1. Advancement " Set goals and implement any fundraising efforts " Participate in one or two annual meetings and determine allocation of grant monies 2. Grant-making Program " Set grant-making priorities and criteria for the fund that supports Peninsula non profits " Review proposals and make grant decisions " Act as a resource to local nonprofit groups about the fund and its priorities and criteria 3. Other Committee Member Responsibilities " Identify and recruit new members " Identify and solicit new donations " Contribute financially at a comfortable level Offices and Responsibilities 1. Chair: elected for two-year term, serving a maximum of three consecutive terms; leads meetings, helps recruit new Committee members, serves as liaison between Committee members and the Maine Community Foundation, corresponds with Committee members about service. 2. Vice Chair: generally succeeds the chair; and fulfills Chair's responsibilities when the chair is unable to. 3. Treasurer: monitors gifts, endowment, and tracks use of awards. 4. Maine Community Foundation Staff: provides staff support, produces gift receipts, gift acknowledgements, and reports; provides quarterly financial fund statements to the Chair.
